It is difficult to imagine a more spectacular setting for Lake Manyara Serena Lodge - on the edge of the Mto Wa Mbu escarpment, overlooking the Great Rift Valley and the stunning Manyara soda lake with an abundance of bird life. The 67 spacious guest rooms at Manyara Serena Lodge have private balconies, each with panoramic views of the Great Rift Valley and the soda lake of Manyara. Location

Totally Maasai inspired, this secluded and luxurious Tanzanian, safari accommodation uniquely offers an adventurous stay in a Maasai-style environment - experiencing the traditional Maasai culture. With an extensive team of professionals, E Unoto Retreat has been methodically developed and constructed with all environmental issues and theme concept in mind as our major concerns and goals. The lodge resembles an "Authentic Tanzanian Maasai Village" and fits in with the surroundings in a most indigenous manner.


Lodge and rooms

The construction methods used by Maasai are, as what is expected from nomadic pastorialists. Even though the factors regarding the construction methods of the Maasai have been incorporated into the methods used in the concept and construction of the lodge, the construction methods and materials of E Unoto Retreat are much more aesthetically astounding and lasting. Of course, the handcrafted and imported furnishings and fittings only compliment the overall theme. With the most-spacious rooms in East Africa and each perching over tranquil Lake Miwaleni, guests enjoy the all-inclusive exceptional experience. There are 25 spacious bungalows. The external surface of the rooms have a Maasai boma appearance, with a unique, exquisite, internal decorative Maasai theme. Some rooms are handicap friendly allowing handicapped people to move about comfortably.

PERMANENT TENTED CAMPS


MIGUNGA FOREST CAMP
(Permanent tented camp)
Location

Migunga is an ideal place for starting and ending a safari in northern Tanzania. It is on the doorstep of some of the finest animal reserves and scenery in Africa. Migunga Forest Camp is set on 35 acres of acacia forest in a secluded part of Migungani Village. The lake is two kilometres away. Bushbuck and other antelope are sometimes seen on the property. Dwarf galago is common and can be seen every evening at dusk.


Camp and tents

The camp consists of 9 self-contained tents. Bathrooms have running hot and cold water, showers and flush toilets. There is a dining room and bar under thatch. Electricity is 12 volt supplied by solar power.

 


KIRURUMU TENTED CAMP
(Permanent tented camp)
Location

Kirurumu Tented Lodge is set high on the edge of the Great Rift Valley, enjoying a marvelous, uplifting and panoramic view eastward over Lake Manyara to Mt. Losimingori and miles of seemingly untouched Africa. Impact on the Lodge's surroundings has been absolutely minimal, all utility lines are carefully placed underground and hot water is created by solar panels. As a result, bird life around the Lodge has increased and even the shy Dik-Dik, the smallest of the antelope family, has remained resident around camp.


Camp and tents

The 20 tents are secure, secluded and spacious with deck-style wooden verandahs. All tents are insect proof with modern en-suite bathrooms, hot and cold running water, soft lighting and flush toilets. The thatched dining room offers a wonderful view and selection of excellent local and European dishes.

LAKE MANYARA HOTEL
(Standard Game Lodge)
Location

Built 1,400 meters above sea level on the western escarpment of the huge Rift Valley, Lake Manyara Hotel overlooks the glassy lake of the Manyara National Park. The lodge offers magnificent panoramic views of the national park below, and of the seemingly unending surrounding landscape.

Lodge and rooms

Each of the 100 rooms offers magnificent views of the Rift Valley. The restaurant gets its daily produce from a local farm, and the bar is a friendly meeting point where guests can relax with a cocktail in hand and exchange stories of their day's adventures.

ADVENTURE CAMPING


TWIGA CAMPSITE
(adventure camping)
Location

Based at Mto wa Mbu to town, just outside Lake Manyara. The accommodation and facilities are very clean. The campsite is 5 minutes from the park gate. Mto wa Mbu means Mosquito Village in the Maasai language.
